From her parents' living room
to the top lash salon in Canberra.

Welcome to Capital Lashes, where we believe every woman deserves to feel confident and beautiful with a sustainable, styled, and stunning set of stunning lashes.

Our story begins with Rachel, our founder and lead lash artist, who fell in love with eyelash extensions at 19. She was obsessed at first lash by how they made her feel and the convenience of feeling"done" without putting on makeup.

However, after experiencing numerous lash mishaps from poorly trained lash artists, Rachel realised there was a need for high-quality lash extension service in Canberra that didn't ruin natural lashes. That's when she was prompted (begged) by friends to become an eyelash artist herself! So, she started her own Lash Salon Business in her parents' living room in March 2017 called Capital Lashes.

Eyelash extension training educator academy canberra

Since then, Capital Lashes has outgrown five salon locations and now resides in the heart of Kingston. Dedicated to high quality, safety and sustainability, Rachel has received 40+ lash extension qualifications from top educators around the world. In 2019, Rachel became one of the 15 industry leaders for the International Association of Registered Lash Artists (ARLA) and collaborated with other leaders to set new industry standards. Rachel has received the highest international lash educator qualifications from the National Association of Lash Artists (NALA - USA)  and the International Lash Masters Association Australia (ILMA). In 2021, she launched Capital Lashes Academy to teach her stunning, fully tailored, and lash health-focused lash methods to other remarkable women around Canberra and Australia.

In 2021, Rachel finally took the leap and started building out an incredible team of lash and brow stylists to better service the clientele and introduce other women to the incredible world of lash artistry. She had the goal to hire women purely based on their personality and drive, train the from scratch using her educations and experience, and to empower them as the next generation of top lash artists in Canberra. Rachel and her team regularly travel interstate to attend lash conferences, have top industry trainers come to teach in the salon, and are continuously training through in-depth in-house training programs to ensure they have the best knowledge, techniques and expertise.  As a result, Capital Lashes now has the most dedicated and highly skilled team of senior lash and brow stylists with new stylists joining the team every so often that have made Capital Lashes what it is today - THE place to go for Sustainable, Styled, and Stunning lashes.

Capital Lashes is passionate about raising industry standards, educating clients, and providing exceptional lash and brow services that make our clients feel confident, beautiful, and cared for.

Thank you for trusting us with your lashes.

With Love & Lashes,

Current Capital Lashes Salon

22 Jardine Street Kingston

The salon we now call home! Rachel and her dad (with some extra help from her mum, friends, other women in business, and even some clients) started building this salon in February 2022, and it took four months to complete after hours with many 3 am finishes. In July 2022, we opened the new salon and our lash academy in this space. The salon has also become an event space for other Canberra women in business to use for their workshops and provides them with a space to grow their businesses.

Capital Lashes 5th Location

68 Jardine Street Kingston

Rachel's first salon build and Capital Lashes' fifth place to operate out of after growing out of the previous Farrer shop's location. Built in June 2021, after the covid lockdown this salon was built. Rachel and her dad learned a lot and spent two months building this salon themselves, including Rachel learning how to tile, do simple cabinetry, and create large dried floral arrangements.

We were never an overnight success. We never got it right first go. We grew, we evolved, and we continue to do so. I couldn't afford much when I started. What we have now is the result of having a dream, working towards it every day, having ethics and integrity for our clients, dreaming of providing them the best services, and never giving up on giving my team and client's the best salon to come to.
